Difference between gouache for children and for artists.
Both gouaches are manufactured from similar components: a binder, a pigment, filler and functional additives. However, due to the fact that art gouache demands higher requirements, the ratio of these components differs from children''s paint. For example, art gouache contains more binder (film former) for intensification of paint membrane. That's why it is more plasticized. Pigment content in art gouache is also higher than in children's one to achieve high covering capacity. Art gouache has higher dispersity than children's paint (art gouache - 20 microns, children's - 40 microns) in order to improve technical specifications. Besides, art gouache must meet accurate color matching (repeatability from batch to batch) and light fastness of pigment. Light fastness must match the value on the packaging.
